Choosing the right pressure is so important mainly because it is the only real connection between the bike and the rider, mitigated by the suspension yes, but that's another story….

So let's see why it affects several things:

1. A less inflated tire will have a greater footprint on the ground, therefore it will heat up more, increasing pressure.
2. A more inflated tire tends to deform less and tends to slide more easily
3. It mainly depends on the terrain, generally on soft terrain they are more deflated (0.8-0.9 bar) and on hard terrain (1 – 1.1 bar)

What else to keep in mind:

1. When hot, the pressure in the tires increases by approximately 0.1 bar.
2. Not all tires have the same pressure, it depends a lot on the casing, based on how hard it is, therefore deformable.
3. The weight of the rider, even if to a small extent, can have an impact.
4. Finally, the pressures on which to "play" are very limited, therefore it is extremely important to use a precision pressure gauge, so as not to distort the reading with instruments of dubious precision and which above all do not return a constant measurement over time.
